Yeah, their new recipe that’s supposed to be healthier makes me sick every time I eat it. Now I just know my blue box so nothing else is speculation, but I've been eating this stuff consistently for years so if anybody was gonna notice too, it would be me. So if they still have MSG they might be the new best. I think the "magic" ingredient could be msg all along and to make a good Mac, you just need a fuck ton of sodium and no shame.

This could be the culprit because MSG adds more flavor to things. Tonight I looked over the ingredients and I noticed they don't have MSG on there anymore, it's a different kind of sodium. The sad part is that I still think it tastes a little better than other brands, but it lost the kick of the flavor it had compared to other brands. Hell, I even measured out the water which I never thought I would do. This is with making sure I use the correct amount of milk (even though I've never had to measure before) adding the correct amount of butter. But now I've made at least 10 different batches over the last few weeks and every one is bland. KD is supposed to be a little tangy, like a very sharp cheddar.
But around the end of 2021 or 2022 I've noticed the flavor is just GONE. I'll say, I was aware around 2015 they changed their recipe and I didn't notice then. I have consistently eaten KD at least once a week (if not more) since I was about 17 (24 now) so I know every way to make it and I don't try to ruin the classic taste.
